After flying high against Lake County last Tuesday, Eagle Valley came back down to earth. The Eagle Valley Devils were beaten by the Loveland Red Wolves 74-44 on Thursday. The Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Eagle Valley still got an impressive performance from Tyler Bates, who posted nine points. Bates is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Brian Fontana was another key player, putting up five points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Loveland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jackson Gebhardt, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Morris, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Eagle Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Loveland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
Eagle Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-54 win against Grand Junction Central on the 13th. As for Loveland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-55 victory against Rampart on the 13th.
