The Vista Meridian Meridian Eagles won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were beaten by Samueli Academy 59-13. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Vista Meridian has scored all season.
Samueli Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Morgan Ordaz, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Haset Seyoum was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Vista Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Samueli Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vista Meridian will challenge Orange County Christian on Tuesday. As for Samueli Academy, Samueli Academy and Calvary Chapel will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
