The Momence Momence Athletics waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 51-38 win over Grace Christian Academy. That's another feather in the cap for Momence, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Momence's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mya Roberson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. Roberson hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Avery Rosenbohm, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Momence is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Grace Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Momence and Gardner-South Wilmington will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Gardner-South Wilmington will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Grace Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Illinois Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Illinois Lutheran has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 22.
