Riviera Prep lost a close one when they played  last Friday but unfortunately for them the  loss they were handed on  on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. Their  rough  23-6 defeat to the ABF Academy Cowboys  might stick with them for a while. Riviera Prep has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Riviera Prep saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Tim Negron, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of  Steven Nunez, who  went 2-for-2 with  an  RBI.
 On ABF Academy's side,  Angel Villegas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  pitched 2.1 innings while giving up   no  earned run off   one  hit (he also only allowed one  walk). Villegas has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  a single  walk in three consecutive pitching appearances. Villegas was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with a  triple, two  RBI,  and a  run.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Steven Garcia, who  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with a  home run, four  runs,  and four  RBI.  Diego Santos was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs while going 3-for-3.
 Riviera Prep now  has a losing record at 8-9. As for ABF Academy, their win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 11-7.
 Riviera Prep is on the road again  on Thursday to play Marathon at 4:00  p.m. Marathon's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2  runs per game  this season, so Riviera Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for ABF Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dade Christian at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
