Crooms Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Legacy Charter Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crooms Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Monday, Crooms Academy was beaten by Mount Dora 50-12.
Crooms Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Erin Hassaballah, who scored six points, and Zoe Fulgencio who scored six points. Fulgencio scored a full 50% of Crooms Academy's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Legacy Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 70-29 loss at the hands of Mount Dora Christian Academy. Legacy Charter has not had much luck with Mount Dora Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Legacy Charter's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mallory Daniels, who scored 13 points along with three steals, and Layni Combs who scored eight points. The match was Daniels' fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Crooms Academy's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Legacy Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
