The Van Wert Cougars's three-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They walked away with a 57-47 victory over Paulding. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Van Wert also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Van Wert's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kendra Deehring, who scored 18 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of jordanne blythe, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Van Wert's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10. As for Paulding, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Van Wert will challenge Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Paulding, they will head out on the road to challenge Edgerton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
