The Andrews Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Highlands Highlanders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Andrews will be strutting in after a victory while Highlands will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Andrews has not done well against Blue Ridge Early College recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Andrews strolled past Blue Ridge Early College with points to spare, taking the game 54-38.
Meanwhile, Highlands' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Cherokee at home and fell 62-14. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Highlands has scored all season.
Andrews pushed their record up to 8-6 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Highlands, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-7 record last season and are now at 1-14.
Andrews strolled past Highlands when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a score of 43-26. Does Andrews have another victory up their sleeve, or will Highlands turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
