If the Swain County Maroon Devils were feeling good off their 53-25 takedown of the Andrews Wildcats last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Swain County's rough 52-28 loss to the Yellowjackets on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. If Swain County was looking for revenge after losing 43-29 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Hayesville found their leader in underclassman Ava Shook, who scored 20 points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Breanna Abrams, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Swain County dropped their record down to 8-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Hayesville, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.
Swain County will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hayesville, they will head out on the road to challenge the Braves at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cherokee is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
