The Maryvale Prep Matador can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cicero Prep Academy 46-13 at home.
When it comes to explaining why Cicero Prep Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maggie Hooppaw. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with four steals and two blocks. Hooppaw has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played.
Maryvale Prep's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-5. As for Cicero Prep Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maryvale Prep will challenge the Gladiators at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully North Phoenix Preparatory Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Monday. As for Cicero Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the Lobos at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
