The Allendale-Fairfax Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss. The contest between Allendale-Fairfax and Whale Branch wasn't particularly close, with Allendale-Fairfax falling 51-32. Allendale-Fairfax has not had much luck with Whale Branch recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Whale Branch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Greggory Gilbert, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Gilbert hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradford Thompson, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Allendale-Fairfax's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Whale Branch, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Bethune-Bowman the next time they take the court. Whale Branch will host Bethune-Bowman at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Allendale-Fairfax will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
