The Lennard Longhorns had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 38-32 victory over Newsome on Friday. For Lennard, this counts as revenge for the 54-45 loss Newsome walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Leading Lennard to victory were Ashlee Lovett and Kyah Vance. Lovett scored ten points, while Vance scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lovett has scored all season.
Lennard's win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9. As for Newsome, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-10.
Lennard will take on Wharton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newsome, they will head out on the road to face off against Riverview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverview and Newsome are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
