Mt. Eden is 8-0 against Tennyson since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mt. Eden Monarchs will head out on the road to face off against the Tennyson Lancers at 7:30 p.m. Mt. Eden is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Mt. Eden posted their closest win since December 20, 2023 on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-47 victory over Encinal.
Even though Tennyson has not done well against Arroyo recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Tennyson walked away with a 62-52 victory over Arroyo. 62 seems to be a good number for Tennyson as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tennyson to victory, but perhaps none more so than James Walker, who scored seven points along with 17 rebounds and three blocks. TraVon Gates was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Mt. Eden is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season. As for Tennyson, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-5.
Everything came up roses for Mt. Eden against Tennyson in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 67-39 win. Does Mt. Eden have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tennyson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
