The Foley Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 13th straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 56-28 loss at the hands of Pine Forest. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Foley has scored all season.
James Morgan and Kaden Adams certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Morgan scored six points, while Adams scored five points along with three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pine Forest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marco Stallworth, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Stallworth is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Franklin, who scored 12 points.
Foley's defeat was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-25. As for Pine Forest, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Foley will take on Fairhope at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fairhope knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Foley likes a good challenge. As for Pine Forest, Pine Forest and Gulf Breeze will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Gulf Breeze focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Friday.
