Basketball Recap: Chisholm Trail Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

If Chisholm Trail Academy was riding high fresh off their 83-28 takedown of Dallas International last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chisholm Trail Academy Blazers lost to the Yavneh Academy Bulldogs on the road by a 57-42 margin on Tuesday. The Blazers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Chisholm Trail Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Max Castro went 7 for 16 on his way to 26 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The match was Castro's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mateo Marquez, who posted six points and seven boards.

Yavneh Academy was led to victory by Darren Sacher and Brendy Eber. Sacher dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Eber went 6 of 14 en route to 12 points and seven boards. Jake Yalovsky was another key player, putting up eight points.

Chisholm Trail Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Yavneh Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Yavneh Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Dallas International at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
