Renaissance Academy hasn't had much luck against Collegium Charter recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Renaissance Academy came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against MAST Community Charter, falling 17-7.
Meanwhile, Collegium Charter came into Friday's match having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Church Farm 14-3 on Friday.
Fabian Zorilla was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Bryce Parmiter looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has become a key player for Collegium Charter: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-8 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Jimmy Parmiter was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Collegium Charter is undefeated when Parmiter posts three or more RBI, but 0-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Bryson Beard, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Collegium Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Church Farm only posted an OBP of .367.
Renaissance Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Collegium Charter, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.
