The Cascade Cadets had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 62-30 victory over Cloverdale. Given Cascade's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Cloverdale is ranked 408th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cascade's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Claire Austin, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Austin has scored all season. Creedance Chittenden was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine steals.
Cascade pushed their record up to 8-10 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Cloverdale, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cascade won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. As for Cloverdale, they will head out on the road to face off against Northview at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Northview is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
