Fairview has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on The Northwestern Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairview will be strutting in after a victory while Northwestern will be coming in after a loss.
Last Saturday, Fairview didn't have too much trouble with North East at home as they won 28-14. The win was just what Fairview needed coming off of a 42-7 defeat in their prior contest.
Vincent Campoli was a one-man wrecking crew for Fairview as he rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns. Jacob Harkness got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Northwestern was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 20-15 to Seneca. Northwestern has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Fairview now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Northwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Fairview has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 154.7 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Northwestern, though, as they've been averaging only 74.3 per game. How will Northwestern fare against such a dominant running game?
Fairview couldn't quite finish off Northwestern when the teams last played back in October of 2022 and fell 31-28. Can Fairview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
