Softball Recap: Woodbury's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Woodbury can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against the Mounds View Mustangs by a score of 4-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-3 back in April.

Kate Rapp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Woodbury saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maleah Hill, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Hannah Rushing also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Woodbury hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Woodbury's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Mounds View, their loss was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Coming up, Woodbury will square off against Irondale at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mounds View, they will take on Centennial at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
