The Kennedy Knights had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-48 victory over Paramus Catholic on Thursday. This was payback for Kennedy, who suffered a 80-63 loss the last time these two teams met.
Kennedy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Mason , who scored ten points along with five assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Miach Pierce, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and five blocks.
Kennedy's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Paramus Catholic, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-1.
Kennedy will be home for the holidays to greet Wayne Hills at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Paramus Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Rutgers Prep at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
