Redwater is 0-10 against Hooks since April of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Dragons will venture away from home to square off against the Hornets at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Redwater took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over Queen City. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Addison Bruner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Alivia Thompson and Laney Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Thompson went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Johnson went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Johnson has posted since back in March of 2025. Avery Barron also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Hooks got themselves on the board against New Boston on Tuesday, but New Boston never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 19-0 win.
Hooks let Mollie Guantt and Keeli Harris run wild. Guantt got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Harris got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Hope Rankin, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Hooks hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.
Redwater's record is now 7-10. As for Hooks, their record now sits at 13-4.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Redwater hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Hooks struggles in that department as they've averaged .390. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Redwater might still be hurting after the 17-6 defeat they got from Hooks in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
