The Pine Forest Eagles posted their biggest victory since November 30, 2023 on Thursday. Everything went their way against West Florida as Pine Forest made off with a 64-38 victory. With that win, Pine Forest brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.
Niylia Wilkins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Wilkins is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Chrisshona Bargaineer was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
West Florida's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amani (AB) Bartholomew, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds. Bartholomew hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Damani Nicholson, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Pine Forest has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for West Florida, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Forest's road trip will continue as they head out to face Booker T. Washington at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Booker T. Washington will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for West Florida, they will head out on the road to square off against Choctawhatchee at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Choctawhatchee presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Florida in Florida (Choctawhatchee is ranked 92nd, while West Florida is ranked 216th).
