Football Recap: Forrest Takes a Loss

After flying high against Fayetteville last Friday, Forrest came back down to earth. The Rockets lost to the Sequatchie County Indians at home by a 54-35 margin on Friday. While the Rockets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Indians 20-12 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Forrest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Quincy Mitchell rushed for 180 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Mitchell is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 122 every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Morgan, who rushed for 58 yards and two TDs.

Forrest's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Sequatchie County, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Forrest didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-0 victory against Community on the 3rd. As for Sequatchie County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 35-28 win against Watertown on the 3rd.
