East Lincoln and Foard are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. East Lincoln is taking a road trip to challenge Foard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Lincoln is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
On Friday, East Lincoln didn't have quite enough to beat North Lincoln and fell 5-3.
Kaitlyn Gust put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Gust was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Taniyah Thomas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabrielle Vaughn, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Foard won against Statesville on Tuesday with 21 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Foard blew past Statesville 21-1. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Greyhounds: they've now won eight in a row.
Like East Lincoln, Foard also got a great game from a two-way player: Karsyn Sigmon. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Sigmon hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Livi Queen was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Gabby Sutcliffe also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Foard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .933. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory got Foard back to even at 4-4. As for East Lincoln, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.
East Lincoln couldn't quite finish off Foard in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can East Lincoln avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
