III Section V recap October 1, 2013
Casa Grande lost to Show Low 62-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Taylor Miers caught 5 passes for 46 yards in the loss.
Flowing Wells led III Section V in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on Flowing Wells.
The Caballeros' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Julio Sandoval threw for 177 yards and Satchel Burton had 87 yards receiving. On the ground Dionte Flores contributed 261 yards. Tyler Stiltner helped Flowing Wells' passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 55 yards.
Flores was a force in the backfield as Flowing Wells lost to Catalina.
Flores was a passing and rushing force as Mark Brunenkant's team lost to the Trojans. Flores' favorite target this week was Burton, who caught 6 passes for 87 yards.
Flores was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 42 carries, he ran for 261 yards as the Caballeros lost to Catalina.
Flowing Wells' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Caballeros feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Sandoval has thrown for 768 yards this season, while Burton has 21 catches for 341 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Catalina Foothills takes on second place Canyon del Oro. Last week, Catalina Foothills defeated Empire, while Canyon del Oro topped Desert View.
