Oblong gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They walked away with a 14-9 victory over the Wayne City Indians. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Brylee Murray was incredible, going 1-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Norah Hoke, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Coming up, Oblong will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Robinson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wayne City, they will square off against Edwards County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Wayne City has now lost seven straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 25.
