St. Petersburg is 6-0 against Largo since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the St. Petersburg Green Devils will get right back to it and host the Largo Packers at 8:00 p.m. on January 17th. St. Petersburg is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
St. Petersburg posted their closest win yet this season on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-44 victory over Osceola. Given St. Petersburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Osceola is ranked 443rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Largo pushed their score all the way to 59 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Gaither 64-59.
St. Petersburg pushed their record up to 13-5 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Largo, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
St. Petersburg strolled past Largo in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 by a score of 76-60. Will St. Petersburg repeat their success, or does Largo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
