Splendora has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. The Splendora Wildcats and the Woodville Eagles will round out the year against one another at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Splendora has not done well against Livingston recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Splendora managed a 52-46 win over Livingston. The victory was just what Splendora needed coming off of a 68-44 defeat in their prior contest.
Justin Kelley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points. The matchup was his 16th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydn McNeely, who scored seven points along with four blocks.
Meanwhile, Woodville's five-game losing streak came to an end last Friday. They came out on top against Pineywoods Community Academy by a score of 63-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Splendora has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Woodville, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9.
Splendora was able to grind out a solid victory over Woodville when the teams last played back in December of 2018, winning 61-52. Will Splendora repeat their success, or does Woodville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
