4A District 1 recap October 8, 2013
Florida State University's Andres DeTorres rumbled for the longest rushing play in 4A District 1 this season in his game against Walton last week. DeTorres' team defeated the Braves as he sprinted for 64 yards on the play and finished with 64 in all.
Florida State University moved up to 196 from 232 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Jarrod Hickman's team was able to move up by besting Walton 40-21.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Seminoles' Ronnie Harrison and Josh Davis have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Harrison has thrown for 798 yards this season, while Davis has 11 catches for 196 yards. Teon Long from Marianna leads the league in rushing with 655 yards.
East Gadsden and the Bulldogs played the most contested game in 4A District 1 this week, with East Gadsden eventually emerging with a 27-25 victory.
