Edgewood Academy and Autauga Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Edgewood Academy Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Autauga Academy Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Edgewood Academy suffered their biggest defeat since December 9, 2023 on Thursday. Their rough 55-35 defeat to Evangel Christian might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Edgewood Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while Evangel Christian is ranked 69th).
The losing side was boosted by Brody Whitt, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Prescott Bonner, who scored seven points.
Autauga Academy can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against Macon-East Montgomery Academy by a score of 43-30.
Edgewood Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Autauga Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6.
Edgewood Academy skirted past Autauga Academy 58-55 in their previous matchup last Friday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Edgewood Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
