3A District 2 recap September 4, 2013
Joe Boden and Ryan Mowan provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Holy Trinity Episcopal. The connection was good for 59 yards, the longest such play in 3A District 2 this season.
Trinity Catholic scaled the state rankings by moving to 76 from 117 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Celtics were able to make move up by besting Calvert Hall 21-3.
Boden and Justin Bryant gave Father Lopez a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Boden threw for 260 yards, while Bryant ran for 84 yards. Boden also contributed to the rushing game with 46 yards on the ground.
Boden and Bryant gave the Green Wave a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.
Boden put up the best numbers through the air as Father Lopez fell to the Tigers. Boden's favorite target this week was Brant Williams, who caught 3 passes for 68 yards.
Kevin Kelly made the biggest impact on defense this week as Jason Dunlap's team fell to Holy Trinity Episcopal. He racked up 2.0 sacks.
Bryant was the most successful running back in the league this week.
Anthony Andrews was the best wideout in 3A District 2 this week as P.K. Yonge fell to Williston. Andrews racked up 3 receptions for 61 yards. Antwain Patterson helped P.K. Yonge's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 12 yards.
The Blue Wave lost to the Red Devils 38-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Andrews ran for 27 yards in the defeat.
