The Morgan Trojans entered their tilt with the Ben Lomond Scots with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Morgan strolled past Ben Lomond with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 55-40. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Morgan also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morgan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eva Birkeland, who scored 14 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Titus, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Ben Lomond had strong showings from Jazzy Tinajero, who scored 16 points along with six steals, and Dory Jenson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Tinajero hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Claudia Avina, who scored six points.
Morgan pushed their record up to 6-11 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Ben Lomond, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
Morgan on the road again on Tuesday and play against Grantsville at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Grantsville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Morgan in Utah (Grantsville is ranked 11th, while Morgan is ranked 67th). As for Ben Lomond, they will be playing at home against Union at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
