Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Alcorn Central). They blew past the Central Wildcats, posting a 62-22 victory. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 99th in Mississippi, while the Wildcats are ranked 292nd in Alabama), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paislee Ticer, who posted eight points. Ticer is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lillian Moore, who had six points.

Alcorn Central's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Alcorn Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-44 loss against McNairy Central on the 10th. As for Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 70-29 defeat against Deshler on the 10th.
