If The East Davidson Golden Eagles were feeling good off their 35-3 takedown of the West Davidson Dragons last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. East Davidson took a serious blow against Salisbury on Friday, falling 55-21. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for East Davidson in their matchups with Salisbury: they've now lost seven in a row.
East Davidson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Brogan Hill, who gained 113 total yards and a touchdown.
Leading Salisbury to victory were Mike Geter and Jamal Rule. Geter rushed for 25 yards and two touchdowns, while Rule gained 200 total yards and three touchdowns. Rule hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for 11 straight games. Jay'lin Johnson also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
East Davidson has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Salisbury, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
East Davidson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Salisbury will play host again and welcome Maiden, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Maiden knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Salisbury likes a good challenge.
