Bishop Hartley extended the longest winning streak in Central Catholic - Gold this week by beating Bishop Luers, 40-7. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Hawks.
Bishop Hartley took down the Knights 40-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ja'wuan Woodley threw for 51 yards, ran for 189 yards and caught one passes for 11 yards in the win.
Brad Burchfield's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jared Brandewie threw for 60 and one touchdown and Jacob Matuska had 51 yards receiving. Dominique Scott helped Bishop Hartley's passing attack out by catching two balls for 49 yards.
Bishop Hartley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hawks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brandewie has thrown for 635 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Scott has nine catches for 245 yards. Woodley leads the league in rushing with 979 yards.
The Hawks' Woodley is a mere 21 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
Bishop Hartley made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 183 from 395. The advance stemmed from a 40-7 victory over Bishop Luers last week.
