Basketball Recap: Riverside Prep Skates Past University Prep with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Riverside Prep over University Prep in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Riverside Prep Silver Knights blew the University Prep Jaguars out of the water with an 80-45 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-18.

Leading Riverside Prep to victory were Jaelen Dixon and Travis Butler. Dixon went 11 of 23 on his way to 26 points along with eight boards and five steals, while Butler dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Butler's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Cayman Pluma was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

The win made it two in a row for Riverside Prep and bumps their season record up to 6-11. As for University Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Riverside Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-35 victory against Academy for Academic Excellence on the 17th. As for University Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 61-45 win against Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy on the 17th.
