With a playoff win on the line, Marshfield rose to the challenge  on Friday. They never let the New Bedford Whalers get on the board and left with  a   3-0  win.

The result came thanks to  Caroline Arruda's shutout, as she gave up just six  hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Sarah McIntyre was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs and two  doubles. That's the most  doubles  she has posted since back in April.
Marshfield has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3-1 record  this season. As for New Bedford,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 3-3.
As of now, neither Marshfield nor the Whalers have any future games scheduled.
