Joscelyn Evans spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ayden Rodgers was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Katelyn Reed was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
Cedarville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Fairbanks had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Macy Kise, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Dulle, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Fairbanks' victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Cedarville, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5.
Cedarville might still be hurting after the 18-0 defeat they got from Fairbanks when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Indians have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
