5A Conference 12 recap November 13, 2013
Bird extended the longest winning streak in 5A Conference 12 this week by beating Manchester, 34-14. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Skyhawks.
Clover Hill took down Huguenot 30-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Lancers' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Daniel Rose threw for 164 and 1 touchdown and Jonathan Duhart had 77 yards receiving. On the ground Carlos Morales chipped in 12 yards. Marcus Ricks helped Manchester's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 70 yards.
Morales was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 3 carries, he ran for 12 yards as Manchester lost to Bird. Lakee Simon also contributed to the rushing game with 11 yards on the ground.
Manchester's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lancers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Rose has thrown for 1,507 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Duhart has 45 catches for 713 yards.
Matoaca and Dale played the most contested game in the league this week, with Matoaca eventually emerging with a 26-25 victory.
