On Saturday, West Boca Raton took a serious blow against Western, falling 75-29. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points West Boca Raton has scored all season.
Western's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maddox Fowles, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Fowles is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Kelly, who scored 13 points.
West Boca Raton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Western, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Boca Raton and Boynton Beach will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Western, they will head out on the road to face off against Chaminade-Madonna at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Chaminade-Madonna will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 325th, while Western is ranked 102nd).
