Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Academy Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Heritage Christian Academy had won five straight home games dating back to last season and Spencer Cook did his part to make it six on Friday. The Heritage Christian Academy Chargers really took it to the Maranatha Christian Academy Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-35 win thanks in part to Cook, who went 7 of 14 en route to 20 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. What's more, he also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024.

Another player making a difference was Biruk Dietz, who posted eight points along with ten assists and seven steals. He has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.

Heritage Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Maranatha Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage Christian Academy will take on Cornerstone Family at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season. As for Maranatha Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bishop Seabury Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
