On Saturday, the Lander Valley Tigers faced the Pinedale Wranglers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lander Valley took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pinedale. Lander Valley's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Elyn Bowers was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds and three steals for Pinedale. Bowers is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 19 or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Erica Wilson, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Lander Valley's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Pinedale, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lander Valley will face off against Worland at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pinedale, they will head out on the road to take on Big Piney at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pinedale has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 520 points over their last eight games.
