Sarasota is 0-10 against Riverview Sarasota since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Sarasota Sailors are on the road again and play against the Riverview Sarasota Rams at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Sarasota will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 278th, while Riverview Sarasota is ranked 69th).
Last Friday, Sarasota didn't have too much trouble with Southeast on the road as they won 25-6. The victory was just what Sarasota needed coming off of a 44-14 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Riverview Sarasota's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against Manatee by a score of 21-14.
Dj Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 81 yards and three touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Sarasota to 1-7 and Riverview Sarasota to 4-4.
Sarasota suffered a grim 27-7 defeat to Riverview Sarasota in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Can Sarasota avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
