Rampart and Vista Ridge are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Rams will be playing at home against the Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rampart has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Rampart turned things around against Palmer Ridge on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 victory over the Bears. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since March 22nd.

Rampart got a massive performance out of Duke Pingrey, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave Pingrey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Valdez, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Vista Ridge came up short against Cheyenne Mountain on Saturday, falling 11-3. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Red-Tailed Hawks: they've now lost three in a row.
Vista Ridge also got a good showing from Jefferson Wilkerson, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wilkerson has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jacob Nelson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Nick Martinez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.
Rampart's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Vista Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.
Rampart took their win against Vista Ridge in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 19-4 score. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
