Baseball Game Preview: Summit Christian Academy Eagles vs. Porter Pirates

The Summit Christian Academy Eagles will challenge the Porter Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Summit Christian Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Summit Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Mounds on Monday as Summit Christian Academy made off with a 16-5 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Cam Archer made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Archer was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Summit Christian Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

In other batting news, Caden Antle and Reece Ford did most of the damage at the plate: Antle scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Ford scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that Antle snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Rosemons, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.

Summit Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Porter lost 10-1 to Rejoice Christian on Saturday. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Summit Christian Academy pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Porter, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Summit Christian Academy took their victory against Porter in their previous matchup last Monday by a conclusive 14-2. Will Summit Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Porter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
