The United Longhorns were the 63-56 winner over the East Central Hornets when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. United fell 69-60 to East Central on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (58), United still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alesha Dillworth, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. Dillworth continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emery Espinoza, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 assists.
United's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for East Central, they pushed their record up to 17-8 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
United will be staying on the road on December 28th to face off against Keller Central at 10:30 a.m. on December 28th. East Central will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Smithson Valley at 11:30 a.m. on December 29th. Smithson Valley will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
