Softball Game Preview: Krum Bobcats vs. Ranchview Wolves

Krum is a perfect 3-0 against Ranchview since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Krum is taking a road trip to take on Ranchview at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Krum has three straight victories, Ranchview has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

It was a proper cat-fight when Krum faced off against Jacksboro on Friday. Krum walked away with a 9-5 win over Jacksboro.

Addison Martindale spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Krum let Lillian Williams and Jazmine Jackson run wild. Williams scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Jackson scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Addyson Zimmerman, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, Ranchview fell victim to Panther Creek and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 17-0.

Krum pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Ranchview, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.

Krum took their victory against Ranchview in their previous matchup on March 7th by a conclusive 15-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Krum since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
