The Grovetown Warriors won the last time they faced the Midland Valley Mustangs, and things went their way on Friday too. Grovetown skirted past Midland Valley 44-42.
Grovetown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rebecca Jones, who scored eight points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of C?shauncey Cheatham, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Grovetown's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Midland Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.
Grovetown will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against South Effingham at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. Midland Valley and Strom Thurmond will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Strom Thurmond is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
