The Goleman Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 25 points or more this season. They breezed by Reagan at home to the tune of 46-17. The victory was familiar territory for Goleman who now have three in a row.
Goleman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Akayla Edwards led the charge by scoring 12 points along with five assists and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Edwards has scored at least 25% of Goleman's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Berman, who scored ten points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Goleman's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Reagan, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Goleman will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jackson at 3:30 p.m. on January 10, 2024. Reagan will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Divine Savior Academy at 3:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Divine Savior Academy is ranked 606th, while Reagan is ranked 622nd).
