New Albany and Evansville North are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Evansville North took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on New Albany, who comes in off a win.
The home team had won the previous six meetings between New Albany and Borden, and New Albany kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 11-2 victory on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Camden Kiper looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because New Albany is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Tyler Hubbard was incredible, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Landon Gum was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.
New Albany was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Evansville North faced Evansville Mater Dei in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Huskies fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Huskies' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Evansville North also got a good showing from Braden Perry, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Furthermore, Perry didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
The win got New Albany back to even at 6-6. As for Evansville North, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. New Albany has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Evansville North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
New Albany couldn't quite finish off Evansville North when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 3-1. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
