After two games on the road, Westside is heading back home. They will take on the Berea Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Westside is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Berea in South Carolina (Westside is ranked 17th, while Berea is ranked 195th).
Last Saturday, Westside strolled past Butler with points to spare, taking the game 48-33.
Westside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Khalia Hartwell, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiana Marshall, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Berea's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 71-30 defeat at the hands of Pickens. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Berea in their matchups with Pickens: they've now lost three in a row.
Westside's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Berea, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Westside against Berea in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 48-12 victory. Will Westside repeat their success, or does Berea have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
